Miah & SheilaAn enjoyable social evening in the Severn Arms, Penybont

On Saturday 8th February 2020 the choir met at the Severn Arms, Penybont for a social event. These events are put on to entertain local communities with the added bonus of promoting the choir and attracting new talent.  The evening was extremely well received by a predominantly young audience of subdued Welsh Rugby fans. In the face of such adversity they soon rallied as they relished the chance to listen and join in with the choirs renditions of such classics as Calon Lan, You’ll Never Walk Alone and Mae Hen Wlad fy Nhadau, to name a few.  To our delight we were approached by one or two keen to ‘have a go’ and come along to our Tuesday night rehearsals in Rhayader.  The wonderfully accommodating Landlord provided us with refreshments before we rounded off the evening with a very special presentation to our outgoing Chair Miah Lewis and his inspirational wife Sheila to thank him for his hard work and commitment during his term. The presentation was given by one of our oldest keystone members Colin Mills.

A few days later on Friday the 14th of December the Choir will be entertaining at the Lynhales Nursing Home just outside Kington in Herefordshire for their annual Christmas Party, which they have done for many years.

The next day on Saturday the 15th of December the Choir can once again be seen at the Elan Valley Visitors Centre for their Grand Christmas Festive Evening which promises to be a spectacular occasion.
